Cash to Compete
In order to encourage paddlers from around the world to join in the fun and excitement, in and around the Dubai Shamaal, the organisers have implemented the Cash to Compete incentive program to help fund travel expenses for the top finishers in the world’s top international events.
Australian paddlers now have the chance to qualify for ‘cash to compete’. Click here for more information.
How it works is as follows:
- The top 3 men and 1st female of each of race qualify for a "Cash Package" as follows:
MEN: 1st: US$1500; 2nd: US$1000; 3rd: US$500
FEMALE: 1st: US$1000 - Only one "Cash Package" will be granted per person. i.e. if you come 1st in one race and 3rd in another then your third place Cash Package is passed on to the competitor who came 4th in that same race. If he/she has already achieved a higher ranking in another race or chooses not to travel to Dubai, then the 5th place person qualifies, and so on.
- The cash package is only redeemable on completion of the 2007 Dubai Shamaal main event
- Qualifying Paddlers have to confirm their participation in Dubai by the 29th October, 2007
(30 days before the event) by presentation of air ticket.
Failure to do so will result in their cash package being ceded to the next position as per point 2 above. - Cash package will be paid in US Dollars.
