Accommodation
The accommodation situation in Dubai is looking a little better this year. To simplify things, this year you will find below details of some of the hotels that have decent rates. You are encouraged to take direct contact to the hotel and make your own booking. This way the middle man is cut out and the process should be more streamlined. Remember, the winter season is a busy one in Dubai. The weekend right after the Shamaal will see the town full of rugby fans as The Dubai Rugby 7’s will be on (www.dubairugby7s.com for tickets should you be interested). This means another influx of visitors so please do make your reservations as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
Most of you are on a budget and often it is cheaper if more than one person sleeps in the room. If you want to connect with other paddlers interested in sharing accommodation, please use the Shamaal Facebook group. You can use this link or search for Dubai Shamaal in the Groups section.
A shuttle bus should be available again this year. Also, Dubai now has a metro system, have a look at http://www.mydubaimetro.com/en and http://www.dubai-metro.me/ for info, note that not all stations are open yet.
Please see the list of accommodation provided for your convenience.
